ESPN 980: The "Core" of a Football Team

Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams talks with ESPN 980's Chris Cooley and Kevin Sheehan about the 'core' group of players that it takes to make a winning team today, and how players like Su'a Cravens are a catalyst for other players to 'feed' off of because of how they carry themselves and their love for the game. Plus, he shares the story of how his bags were packed and he was ready to make the move to the Raiders when Joe Gibbstold him he was staying and that 'he had a feeling' about the season. The feeling turned out correct – as Williams took over as starting QB with 6:57 left in the third quarter of the regular-season finale against Minnesota. Williams took the team into the playoffs, and ultimately to a victory in Super Bowl XXII.
