2017 Regular Season Snap Counts: Special Teams

Check out how many special teams snap counts Washington Redskins players appeared on during the 2017 regular season.

While Washington Redskins cornerback Fabian Moreau spent the majority of his rookie season watching from the sidelines whenever the defense took the field, he was a key contributor for the special teams unit in 2017.

Leading the Redskins in special teams plays with 349, Moreau used his 4.35 speed to help slow opposing punt returners and allowing just one score on the year. 

Chris Carter, meanwhile, was almost exclusively a special teamer for the Redskins before his season was cut short in early December due to a fractured fibula. In 13 games he appeared on 330 special teams plays and recorded six tackles.

--In total, 66 different Redskins appeared on at least one special teams play during the 2017 season.

--Deshazor Everett led the unit in both total special team tackles (10) and solo special teams tackles (seven) according to coaches' film.

--Quinton Dunbar, meanwhile, downed the most punts inside the 20-yard line with three. This does not include fair catches and punts that went out of bounds.

--As for punter Tress Way, the Oklahoma product averaged nearly 46 yards on his 83 punts this season. The 83 punts was a career-high for Way, surpassing his 77 punts in 2014.

--At the kicker position, Dustin Hopkins went 14-of-17 this season while Nick Rose, who was signed while Hopkins missed time with a hip injury, made 9-of-10 tries including a 55 yarder the Vikings.
