2019 Free Agent Profile: Steven Nelson


Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Steven Nelson had a career season in 2018. The fourth-year player had 68 tackles, with two tackles for loss, 15 passes defensed and intercepted four passes. He started all 16 of the Chiefs games, as well as both of their playoff games.

Steven Nelson spent his rookie year as a backup in Kansas City before becoming a starter in his second season. In 2016, his second season, he had 64 tackles, four tackles for loss, and 16 passes defensed. In 2017, Nelson missed the first half of the season due to a core muscle injury.
