Over the offseason, The Redskins Blog has been providing you with a different look at the franchise's past.

Unlike Throwback Thursday where we've looked at important moments on the gridiron against an upcoming opponent, this series will examine some of the lighter moments as we go through all of the photos stored at Redskins Park in Loudoun County, Va.

With the Redskins' first-round selection of Brandon Scherff, the colossal offensive lineman from Iowa, last week, we thought it was appropriate to break out this photo from the 2000 NFL Draft.

Another Outland Trophy winner, Chris Samuels, a left tackle from Alabama, was also taken by the Redskins in the first round 15 years earlier with the No. 3 overall selection.

After his senior season, his best statistically, Samuels was selected as a first-team All-American and was the perfect candidate for the team to bolster their top-10 offense.

Samuels was recently named the best pick of the 2000 NFL Draft by Chase Goodbread of NFL.com.

Samuels appeared and started in 141 games over the course of 10 seasons. He paved the way for seven different 1,000-yard rushing seasons to include Clinton Portis' 1,516-yard season which, at the time, was the franchise record for most rushing yards by an individual in a single-season in franchise history.

Here's to Scherff providing similar results as the Redskins usher in another promising big man.
