Actor Laz Alonso To Announce Fourth-Round Pick At 2018 Redskins' Draft Fest Presented By Pepsi

LANDOVER, Md. – The Washington Redskins announced today that acclaimed actor Laz Alonso, best known for his roles as Tsu'Tey in* Avatar* and Fenix in Fast and Furious 4: Fast & Furious, will announce the Redskins' fourth-round pick live on stage as part of the team's annual Draft Fest at FedExField on Saturday, April 28. Alonso becomes the latest to join the list of celebrities who have participated in Redskins Draft Fest in recent years, including actors Michael Ealy (2017) and Bellamy Young (2016) and rapper Wale (2015). 

Alonso recently co-starred in Kathryn Bigelow's critically acclaimed film Detroit and currently stars in Lionsgate's newest action-packed thriller Traffik. In *Traffik, *Brea (Paula Patton) and John (Omar Epps) plan for a romantic weekend getaway, but their plans turn into terror when they accidentally discover the hidden world of a brutal biker gang. Darren (Laz Alonso) and Malie (Roselyn Sanchez) join the pair and fight for their lives against the gang, which will do anything to keep its secrets safe. Alonso has also signed on to star in Amazon's superhero series "The Boys" to add to his television credits, which include leading roles in NBC's "The Mysteries of Laura" alongside Debra Messing and Josh Lucas, "Deception" and A&E's "Breakout Kings."

"It's going to be a great weekend celebrating both my home team during the Draft and the release of my new movie," said Alonso. "I'm excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Redskins' Draft Fest this year."

Alonso, a D.C. native and Howard University graduate, received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in the romantic comedy Jumping the Broom.

Admission and parking for the Draft Fest are free for all fans. Fans will be admitted through the Pepsi Gate (Gate H) at 10:30 a.m. and the event will conclude at 2 p.m. Parking Lot A on Garrett Morgan Boulevard will open at 9:30 a.m. For more details on the Draft Fest and to register for the event, visit www.redskins.com/DraftFest.
