Arrington to Sit Out Miami Game

Linebacker LaVar Arrington did not travel to Miami for Saturday night's preseason contest against Miami and will sit out the game. Arrington has a sprained left knee suffered during a practice earlier this week.

"You've got to be smart-it's the preseason," Arrington told reporters on Thursday. "It's not the regular season and it's not the playoffs. I don't need to risk making it any worse."

With Arrington out of the lineup, Lemar Marshall could get a start at outside linebacker. Antonio Pierce is expected start at middle linebacker in place of Barrow.

Along with Arrington, these players also did not make the trip to Miami so that they could recuperate from injuries: Mike Barrow (thigh), Rashad Bauman (hamstring), Fred Baxter (knee), Chris Clemons (hamstring), Darnerien McCants (ankle sprain), Cliff Russell (hamstring) and Ladell Betts (hamstring).
