Bugel Returns to Redskins Park

Joe Bugel was back with the Redskins on Monday, one week after leaving the team to be with his daughter Holly, who is suffering from a rare form of breast cancer.

Bugel resumed his work overseeing the team's offensive line.

On Aug. 11, Bugel left the team to travel to Phoenix to be with Holly and his family.

"It's good to have Joe back," head coach Jim Zorn said. "He has been through a rough week and a half. And his fight is still not over for his daughter. He's back and he's trying to concentrate on work, but part of his heart is still with his family."

Bugel, in his 31st NFL season and 14th with the Redskins, did not attend last Saturday's Redskins-Jets preseason game.

"He's like a family member to us," right tackle Jon Jansen said. "It's hard to see a member of your family go through what he has had to go through. We love having him back, and anything he needs we're here for him."
