Any Redskins fans planning to attend the NFL Draft this year will get to experience more than just announcements at the podium.

With Chicago taking over hosting duties from New York City, the first time in 50 years the draft has been anywhere besides Manhattan, the NFL is revamping indoor and outdoor plans for the three-day event.

According to ESPN, the most engaging, immersive addition will be a place called "Draft-Town," where fans will be able to test their speed running the 40-yard dash against players, obtain autographs and hang out in areas designated for all 32 teams.

"We'll have screens inside those areas that reflect what is going on specifically with that team, including the social media conversation," NFL senior vice president Peter O'Reilly said. "Not only will a legend from each team give the pick, as they typically do in the second round, but they'll also make an appearance at the team chalet."

There will also be live sets both inside the Auditorium Theater and across the street at Grant Park, where team tables will be set up and picks will be relayed across Michigan Avenue into the theater.

The league promises that about 4,000 seats in and around the theater will be free of charge for fans and selected draft picks will be shepherded to Grant Park for a public interview.

So, as long as it's not too cold, windy, or wet on that spring weekend, it should be worth the trip. Pack a burgundy and gold poncho just in case.
