The 2015 season was a success for the Washington Redskins both on and off the field. This season, in partnership with Frito-Lay, Redskins Salute launched the Helmet for Helmet Sweepstakes to honor active duty members of the United States Armed Forces.

The sweepstakes called for fans to nominate an active duty member of the Armed Forces who serves as an inspiration for them, for the opportunity to become a Redskins honorary player-for-a-day.

Out of hundreds of amazing nominations, Technical Sergeant Chris Ewers of the United States Air Force was selected as the grand prize winner.

Technical Sergeant Ewers was nominated by his wife, Ashleigh. He has served in the Air Force for more than eight years, with tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Ewers, whose first date was at a Redskins game, and their two children were invited to Redskins Park in Loudoun County, where Technical Sergeant Ewers and his wife became honorary players-for-a-day.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience included signing an honorary contract, receiving their official team jerseys, meeting with Larry Michael, Voice of the Redskins, and some up-close and personal conversations with several Redskins players.

On November 15, Technical Sergeant Ewers and his family were invited by Redskins Salute and Frito-Lay to FedExField to be honored in an on-field ceremony during halftime of the Redskins' victory over the New Orleans Saints.

In addition to the grand prize, the sweepstakes also included secondary prizing that featured premium tickets to a Redskins game for other active duty members of the Armed Forces and their family and friends.

Redskins Salute and Frito-Lay are proud to honor members of the United States Armed Forces, and thank every member of our military for their service to our country.
