Chris Samuels' string of awards for his college and NFL playing days will culminate with one more this May.

The former Redskins' left tackle will be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame along with seven others, including former NFL running back James Brooks and current Duke head football coach David Cutcliffe.

Samuels, who is from Mobile, Ala., helped lead Alabama to a 1999 SEC Championship, won the Outland Trophy, given to the nation's best interior lineman, and was a consensus All-American.

The Redskins took him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft and Samuels went on to become a six-time Pro Bowler during his 10-year career.

Now, after spending three years under Alabama head coach Nick Saban as an assistant, Samuels works as the head football coach at Osbourn High School in Northern Va. He's also donating his coaching salary back to the football program.

"At the end of the day when you are on your deathbed," Samuels said in a recent MMQB feature, "are you going to want to work another three weeks or spend time with your family?"

The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in Birmingham, Ala. More details can be found here.
