On Sept. 28, 2016, former Redskins Pro Hall of Fame cornerback, Darrell Green, joined the George Mason University Men's basketball team for some fun during their practice.
Currently serving as George Mason's Associate Athletics Director, Green entered the end of head coach Dave Paulsen's practice to participate in the basketball team's three-minute run.
Green, known for his 20-year contributions to the Redskins, claims to be "running with" the team and not against them, since they're "all [George Mason] Patriots."
As Paulsen briefs the team on the Redskins legend's accolades, he finishes with, "I thought he was 43 -- but he's actually 56." The players looked stunned as they asked, "Wait, he's what?" and Paulsen repeated, "He's 56."
To no one's surprise, the former cornerback hung tough with the players and after the run, they laughed, joked and took pictures.
Even Paulsen showed his gratitude for the visit by tweeting, "Great to have @darrellgreen28 join our guys for 3 minute run at end of workout. #MasonFamily."
Though the run looked tiring, the visit was obviously a fun one for Green.
"I'm glad to be around these young guys," Green said. "They're a good group of guys. They're hard-workers and I just hope I could bring a little inspiration to them."
