Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who has been working his way back from a toe injury suffered Week 3, says he expects to play Sunday against the Saints.*
For the first time since Week 3, cornerbacks Bashaud Breeland, Chris Culliver and DeAngelo Hall are all expected to play on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
Culliver returned last week against the New England Patriots after missing the previous three games with a left knee injury. He played 64 percent of the defensive snaps. Breeland, who strained his right hamstring against Tampa Bay in Week 7, played 40 percent of the snaps in the Redskins' 27-10 loss to the Patriots.
Head coach Jay Gruden said on Friday that Culliver and Breeland are not expected to be on a limited snap count this Sunday.
Gruden also said that Hall, who sprained a toe on his right foot against the Giants and has missed the last five games, is questionable.
However, Hall left little doubt about his status for Sunday.
"The level of optimism? I'm playing, period," Hall said. "I've been taking reps all week in practice, gradually giving me more and more, but I'm playing when needed. I think Bre and Cully are going to start it off and I'm going to get in when I can."
The veteran said he's "super excited" about the chance to get back onto the field.
"Super pumped up," he continued. "It would be nice to be 100 percent, but that's not likely going to be the case. I feel good enough to come out here and compete and run around and hopefully I feel a lot better come game time, the juices flowing and the adrenaline and all that good stuff."
Along with Hall, inside linebacker Keenan Robinson (stinger), wide receiver Andre Roberts (ankle) and nose tackle Terrance Knighton are all listed as questionable. Knighton did not travel to New England because of cluster headaches, but has fully participated in practices this week.
According to the team, Knighton is listed as questionable just as a precaution in case the headaches return, and is expected to play.
Culliver, Breeland, free safety Dashon Goldson, defensive end Jason Hatcher, outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, center Josh LeRibeus and running back Chris Thompson are all listed as probable.
