Redskins' running back Derrius Guice is one of five players nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Week following his performance against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Guice, who appeared in just his fourth game of the 2019 season due to recovering from a torn meniscus, rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. (His 129 rushing yards were third-highest in the NFL for Week 13).
Guice also averaged 12.9 yards per carry and had two rushes go for 25-plus yards: a 37-yard run that included a stiff arm of Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson and a 60-yard run on his first carry of the game.
Guice's two touchdowns played a pivotal role in giving the Redskins their first win in Charlotte since 1998. Vote here to make Guice a first-time recipient of the award.
As part of FedEx's continued commitment to deliver support to service members and their families, FedEx will donate $2,000 to the USO on behalf of each winner through FedEx Cares. The $4,000 donation will support USO Pathfinder, which provides resources and personalized services to assist service members and military spouses in their transition back to civilian life.
