Doug Williams And DeAngelo Hall Take Part In Black College Football Hall of Fame Golf Classic

The Black College Hall of Fame held its 2016 Golf Classic on Monday at the Manor Golf & Country Club in Alpharetta, Ga.

The Washington Redskins were well represented at the event, as personnel executive Doug Williams and safety DeAngelo Hall were both out driving and putting golf balls.

Hall was on top of his game during the tournament, sinking a putt on the 14th hole.

Hall had a good time with his golfing mates, and tweeted out about it afterwards.

The Golf Classic was played as a scramble format with each player receiving a special Black College Football Hall of Fame Gift Bag and a team photo. Prizes were awarded to the top three foursomes, longest drive and closest to the pin winners.

In 2009, Williams and fellow quarterback James Harris founded the Black College Football Hall of Fame to preserve the history and honor the greatest players, coaches and contributors from Historically Black College and Universities. There have been 64 Inductees since inception including Williams, Harris, Mel Blount, Willie Lanier and Art Shell.

Harris was the first African-American quarterback to be a full-time starter in the NFL, while Williams was the first African-American quarterback to win a Super Bowl with the Redskins.

Recently, the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Black College Hall of Fame reached a partnership that will bring the BCFHOF to the new Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio.

"The Black College Football Hall of Fame is thrilled to have its permanent home in Canton, Ohio, at the Pro Football Hall of Fame," Williams said. "This special partnership will allow us to preserve black college football history for generations to come."

The partnership will include an HBCU Classic at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, and the BCFHOF's annual induction ceremony, which will be held at the Hall of Fame Village.
