On Friday, EMS personnel representatives from 10 different local fire and rescue teams competed against each other in a flag football tournament for the third annual Inova Hero Bowl.

The event, held at the Redskins' indoor training facility, kicked off in the morning and lasted throughout the day.

The teams were formed by firefighters and EMS workers from Loudoun County Fire & Rescue, Quarter House, Fairfax Fyre Dawgz, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Fire/Rescue Department, Prince William Fire & Rescue, Arlington County, Prince George County Fire/EMS Dept., Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad, DC Fire Agency DC Fire & EMS and PWC Night Shift.

"I wanted to build camaraderie with my crew and also just to have fun and meet other guys from other fire departments," said Stephen Wilson from the Airports Authority. "It's always something good and then you get a workout in, so you can't beat that. As firemen, we've got to stay fit."

The Fyre Dawgz took home a championship trophy and a certificate and several were awarded autographed items.
