The Redskins had a lot of stuff to remember in 2016.

Now that the season has come to a close, the Redskins Blog will select its favorite things from Redskins fans, players, coaches and team personnel over the last 12 months.

We'll continue with our five favorite Instagram posts from linebacker Will Compton, who has quite the sense of humor.

1. The Christmas Surprise

Caption: "Was just sent this video, and I'm not gonna lie... this is one of the coolest things I've seen. Damn near brought a little sweat to my eyeball | God Bless and have a Merry Christmas everyone."

The unbridled joy this kid receives from opening up a Will Compton jersey is quite remarkable, and we are all fortunate that Compton posted the video to his Instagram to let us bear witness to this display of enthusiasm. The young fella has to leave the room once opening the box because he just can't believe what he's seen inside. If you can make Compton nearly cry, you're doing something right.

2. The Money Liners

As Compton stepped into a starting role last season, he began to gain more confidence in how he dressed, a natural evolution. Although defensive Jason Hatcher, Compton's source of style inspiration, was no longer with the team in 2016, the linebacker certainly made sure he still stood out. The Nebraska product had fun changing up his suit liners this year, but this one was definitely the best.

3. The Face Swap

One of the staples of Compton's Instagram habits has been inserting his head onto another player's body. His most notable face swap came a couple of years ago when he put his head onto tight end Niles Paul sprinting at the combine. This time, anticipating the team's Sunday night matchup with the Packers, Compton swapped out Trent Williams' mug with his. Besides the halo, he aligns the neck pretty well here.

Tune in.

4. The Think Pink

Caption: "Had a good time today getting pampered and pampering these awesome women who are beating THE HELL out of cancer right now. My teammates and I are very grateful for these opportunities! #PrayingTheAssWhoopinContinues"

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation hosted the ninth annual All-Star Survivors Celebration for 31 women battling breast cancer in mid-October. Compton goes each year, lending his presence to brighten and pink up the day for women struggling through various stages of cancer. Once again, he wasn't shy about putting on lipstick or pink-colored hair. It's a good opportunity to gain some perspective midway through a grueling season.

5. The Blue Steel

Photo shoot days are some Compton's favorite, mostly because he gets to imagine what his second career as a model might have been like. Never one to shy away from famous poses, he does his best Derek Zoolander impression here, knocking you out with that incredible Blue Steel look.

Honorable Mention: The Suna Cravens

It was well-documented that the linebacker group – specifically Compton and Mason Foster – gave rookie Su'a Cravens a bit of a hard time. Back in the summer, as players prepared to answer questions for the stadium video boards, Compton couldn't help but mess with Cravens as he tried to keep a straight face. Spelling his name wrong has also been Compton's signature.
