According to Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, the Redskins' latest acquisition, Dashazor Everett, is a versatile, gritty player.

"Me and him had a lot of battles. We came in together, Class of 2011," Evans said back when Everett was signed by the Bucs in May. "That boy is a baller. I think he will have a real good shot at making the team. He works hard. He can play safety, nickel or corner. He'll do the dirty work. He'll get on special teams. He'll do whatever it takes. I'm excited about having him here."

The 6-foot, 193 pound corner ran a 4.49 40 yard dash at his pro day and his size and speed makes him a valuable asset.

Out of high school, Everett had nearly a dozen scholarship offers from notables such as Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss and Missouri, among others, which made offers before he eventually chose Texas A&M.

In his senior year with the Aggies, he was second on the team with 73 tackles and compiled three defensive touchdowns during his career at College Station, where he split time playing safety and corner.

General manager Scot McCloughan said back in May that he liked to draft and sign college players from big conferences, where big stadiums and imposing crowds were old habit.

Everett seems to fit that bill with his SEC experience, especially considering he had great success against Alabama in big exposure games.

In the video above, he intercepted quarterback A.J. McCarron at the goalline to beat Alabama in 2012. The next year, he shut down Amari Cooper for just 34 yards.

Also, check out this video of a pick six against Arkansas. You can see Everett the whole time in the screen, dropping back into coverage near the middle of the field and then jumping a crossing route for the easy score. Just plain instinct.
