Griffin III Practices Fully, Could Be Ready

Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan reported that Robert Griffin III practiced fully on Friday for the first time this week, and could be in line to start Sunday's contest against the Vikings.

"Full practice today," Shanahan told the media.  "I'm not sure what we will list him as, but if he passes his tests and we don't see any symptoms then it looks like he'll be ready to go.

"Whether he's questionable or probable all depends on the doctors."

Griffin III has been closely monitored by the medical training staff this week, bringing him along cautiously in practice.

Griffin III told the media on Wednesday that he had yet to experience concussion-like symptoms, and has yet to suffer any setbacks in his recovery.

Shanahan told the media that the decision to start No. 10 on Sunday ultimately boils down to how Griffin III responds in the next 48 hours.

"That's what we have doctors for. Doctors make those decisions, we don't," he said.  "That's why we run all these tests. But why would you not let somebody play if he's felt good right at the end of the game [and] every day until now?

"If he has these tests after practice today and all of sudden he's not feeling good or something's wrong, obviously we're not going to take the chance."

Shanahan did discuss whether Rex Grossman or Kirk Cousins would be in line to start if Griffin III is unable to go.

In other injury news, receiver Pierre Garçon was limited in practice (foot) for the first time this week, indicating a setback from his full practice participation on Wednesday and Thursday.

"It's painful, that's why we set him out," Shanahan said.  "It's tender and it's still sore, but it's a pain issue. [He's] not sore enough to where he can't push off all the time, so that's why we listed him as questionable."
