Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has been nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week for his Week 6 performance against the Minnesota Vikings.

Griffin III completed 17-of-22 passes for 182 yards and one touchdown last Sunday, along with rushing for 138 yards and two scores on the ground to help push the Redskins past the Minnesota Vikings 38-26.

Griffin III has been nominated twice this season (Weeks 1 and 4) and has won the award both times.

He is competing in a fan vote on NFL.com with safety Mark Barron of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, wide receiver Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Ryan Tannehill of the Miami Dolphins and quarterback Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks.

Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/rookies beginning Tuesday at 9 A.M. ET and ending on Friday at 3 P.M. ET to determine the NFL Rookie of the Week.

The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for NFL Rookie of the Year honors.  Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January.

The NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the second annual "NFL Honors" awards show in New Orleans on Saturday, February 2, the night before Super Bowl XLVII.
