As we continued to look at the work of Ed Sabol and NFL Films last week, The Redskins Blog provided video from the Redskins' 1972 season.
That season, of course, would end with the franchise's first Super Bowl berth, pitting them against the Miami Dolphins.
But before they played the Dolphins, and before beating the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Championship Game, the Redskins hosted the Green Bay Packers at RFK Stadium in the divisional round of the playoffs.
The game was emblematic of those played throughout the regular-season, as the Redskins defense held the Packers to just three points and the offense methodically wore down the Green Bay defense.
Larry Brown ran for 101 yards on 25 carries, while Roy Jefferson hauled in five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.
At final whistle, the Redskins were victorious by a final of 16-3.
