Hoping the Redskins can uncover a top-notch defensive lineman at the Senior Bowl this weekend? It's happened before.
Back in 1970, the Redskins looked at Bill Brundige of Colorado at the Senior Bowl and made him their second-round selection in the NFL Draft that year.
Brundige played his whole career with the Redskins, helped lead the team to a Super Bowl berth in 1972, and was named one of the 70 Greatest Redskins in 2002.

In 1964, the Redskins watched a young safety, Paul Krause, of Iowa emerge at the Senior Bowl, and they drafted him in the second round of the draft that year.
Krause played four years with the Redskins before moving on to the Minnesota Vikings. He developed into a Hall of Fame player and set an NFL record with 81 career interceptions, a mark that still stands.
With the 2007 season in the books, Redskins personnel officials have converged on Mobile, Ala., this week for the Senior Bowl. The Redskins' contingent includes director of college scouting Scott Campbell.

Last year, linebacker H.B. Blades and quarterback Jordan Palmer played in the Senior Bowl.
In 2005, all six of the Redskins' draft picks--including first-rounders Carlos Rogers and Jason Campbell, both starters--were Senior Bowl participants. So was 2004 third-round pick Chris Cooley.
The Redskins hold the 21st overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
Last year, 26 Senior Bowl participants were selected in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft. So there's a good chance that the Redskins' top draft pick will be playing in Saturday's game in Alabama.
This year, the North Team is coached by Lane Kiffin and the Oakland Raiders staff, while the South Team is coached by Mike Nolan and the San Francisco 49ers staff.
