Jamison Crowder, a standout wide receiver at Duke, signed his Redskins contract Monday and took the field with his new team for the first time.

The fourth-round selection played all four years at Duke, appearing in 52 games, recording 3,641 yards and 23 touchdowns on 283 receptions.

Crowder will use this week and the rookie mini-camps this weekend to prove his versatility and demonstrate his effectiveness on offense and special teams.

"I feel like I can help out in multiple ways," he said last week. "For one, I can come in and be the return man, punt return guy and be able to help set up the offense with good field position, score touchdowns. Otherwise, come in and be a good slot receiver as well. I can come in and make plays, and do whatever is necessary to help the team win."
