Jamison Crowder Mentioned On Kiper's Rookie Standout List

Mel Kiper Jr. came out with his latest rookie rankings, grading all of the NFL's rookies performances on the merits of:

  • All games this season, not just last week.
  • Total snap counts. Staying on the field is a measure of value.
  • Positional value, but overall performance and impact on the team matter more.
  • Relative value. I ask: Would this player be a starter on most teams or on a good team?

Now, wide receiver Jamison Crowder doesn't make the top 25 on the list. But he does make an appearance on the "Also Considered" list. This doesn't seem like any great accomplishment, but consider the value that Crowder, a fourth round draft pick, has provided for the team.

He's been a very strong slot receiving option for quarterback Kirk Cousins:

Crowder has 49 receptions for 461 yards and a touchdown.

He's also stepped up to being the primary punt returner:

Corwder averages 5.7 yards per return, with a long of 16 yards.

He even has a pass attempt.

If he keeps up his production, Kiper will have a difficult time not including him at the end of the season.
