On Washington's fans:

"I think that the thing that probably impressed me the most about [Saturday night's game] was our fans. We were 5-10 when the game started and they showed up. It was unbelievable. That will be something I remember for a long time."

On the Redskins-Giants game:

"I felt like our guys came out and wanted to fight hard. I think they wanted to make a statement at the end of the year. I think they did that in particular the past six weeks. I think we played hard. Obviously, there were a lot of things we could have done better to give us a chance to win the football game. The thing that I was proud of was their heart and the way they fought, playing a team that has everything on the line."

On the Redskins players:

"I think we probably learned a lot about ourselves down the stretch there. A bunch of guys--some of them young guys--made statements about what they can do for our team and that's a good thing for us. I was proud of the way they fought tonight."

On the off-season:

"I'm already, in my mind, thinking about the offseason and all of the things we've got to do to try and help ourselves. I think we've got a bunch of players that will play their hearts out. I've got to find a way to do a better job from my standpoint. It's my responsibility to win games and we didn't win games this year. I think there is a lot for us to think about. Dan and I were in there talking right now. We're going to start with me and him and spend quite a bit of time together the first part of this week."

On his post-game locker room talk with the team:

"I think we got a group in here to build around. I appreciated going down the stretch like that--playing at least four weeks--where you're playing other people who have everything on the line."

On Jason Campbell's (#17, QB) injury:

"I think that what Jason did for me was make a statement. He had a pretty good shot there in the first half. I felt that he was competing and ran a couple of times. He got tagged. He said that he was ready to go back in the next series. I wanted to wait and tell Mark Brunell (#8, QB) that he'd finish the game if we went back out. Then Jason came back in the second half and fought hard and gave us a chance to win."

On Jason Campbell's growth:

"I think this game was a learning experience for him. He experienced a little bit of everything."

On if Jason Campbell is the starting quarterback next season:

"Yes, he's our starter (for the 2007 season)."
