Some of the greatest players to ever wear the burgundy and gold didn't have to wait long to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

And then there's the mysterious case of Joe Jacoby.

Jacoby, one of the original Hogs and a three-time Super Bowl champion, has been a semifinalist several times for enshrinement in Canton, but that's as close as he would get.

He's a semifinalist once again this year, and there's no reason why his patience should not be rewarded this time around. Jacoby was a terrific tackle on the greatest offensive line in NFL history — he was voted to four consecutive Pro Bowls and named to the NFL's 1980s All-Decade Team.

While Jacoby's Hall of Fame status this year won't be known for a while, you Redskins fans can let your voice be heard regarding the great No. 66.

Head on over to the Talk Of America Network, which is conducting a poll of the greatest Pro Football Hall of Fame candidates who have waited long enough to get their gold jackets.

Jacoby is one of five choices, along with St. Louis/San Diego coach Don Coryell, San Francisco fullback Roger Craig, Atlanta tackle Mike Kenn and Denver linebacker Karl Mecklenburg.

All derserving candidates, for sure, but Jacoby's waited long enough.

So go cast your vote for Jacoby!
