Josh Norman And Boys & Girls Club Announce Plan To Help Hurricane Victims

"It's gut wrenching."

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman recently announced that his non-profit, Starz 24, would be teaming up with the Boys & Girls Club of America to help children and their families who are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

Norman sent out a tweet Tuesday morning outlining the details of the initiative, where he announced he would be personally donating $50,000 to the relief efforts. Starz 24 and BGCA aim to raise an additional $200,000 through donations.

"My heart goes out to everyone over there, but especially the kids, who need our help the most," Norman said in his announcement video.

To donate, fans can visit BGCA's website. All proceeds will benefit clubs in Puerto Rico struggling to keep their doors open as they help families get back on their feet.

Norman will also auction off a pair of cleats, with all funds going directly to Hurricane Maria victims.

Hurricane Maria, a category four storm that swept through Puerto Rico near the end of September, left most of the island without power, food or access to clean water, affecting more than three million U.S. citizens.
