Kai Forbath Writes He's Re-Signed With Redskins

One of the most consistent NFL kickers since originally signing with the Redskins, Kai Forbath -- a restricted free agent -- says he's re-signed with the team.

Kicker Kai Forbath posted on social media Wednesday evening that he has re-signed with the Washington Redskins.

The team has yet to confirm the deal.

Forbath – a restricted free agent – has been a consistent performer for the Redskins since signing with the team midway through the 2012 season, as he's converted on 59 of 67 field goal attempts for an 88 percent conversion rate.

The UCLA product has made 90 extra-point attempts as well and has 173 kickoffs on his resume to date, recording 47 touchbacks.

His career got off to quite the start in 2012, as he nailed his first 17 field goal attempts, a record for most consecutive conversions to start an NFL career.

During the 2013 season, Forbath once again assumed primary kicking duties, nailing 18 field goal attempts in 13 games.

Then in 2014, Forbath proved valuable in clutch situations, as he booted three game-winning field goals including the final points against the Dallas Cowboys in overtime and late in the fourth quarter in a game that would eliminate the Philadelphia Eagles from playoff contention.

"That's what I do this for, moments like that," Forbath said after the Redskins' victory over the Eagles. "It's a lot of fun. I score points when I can for the team, but those chances you get to win for them, that's what really makes it special."
