Landon Collins Excited To Play In The Home Of The Legendary Sean Taylor

Redskins fans have solemn hearts today.

On this the day, Nov. 27, legendary safety Sean Taylor was tragically killed at his home eight years ago, and there has been no shortage of prayers and memories to celebrate and cherish No. 21.

That includes Giants safety Landon Collins.

As has been documented many times before, Collins grew up a Redskins fan – specifically a Clinton Portis and Sean Taylor fan – and while playing at Alabama chose to wear the No. 26, the same number Taylor wore at Miami.

When he was drafted by the Giants, he asked cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is he could swap and wear No. 21 to pay tribute to his fallen idol.

Now, he'll get his first chance to play on the same field Taylor did this Sunday.

"When I go out there and do warm-ups and stuff, I just want to look at the memory of him and his name up there and stuff like that," Collins told Newsday. "It's going to be fantastic and it's going to be a dream come true to be on the field he played on."

Taylor represented the best in a safety, a fearlessness and aggression that Collins said he tries to live up to every game.

"That's every game, every game, especially playing on his field and his turf," Collins said. "That's definitely one of the keys for myself, for me to go to that field and do the same thing he did."

Here's how other Redskins fans have paid tribute to Taylor throughout the day.
