Long Snapper Albright Earns Pro Bowl Nod

Ethan Albright is headed to Hawaii.

The Redskins' veteran long snapper has been named to the 2008 Pro Bowl, the Redskins announced on Thursday.

It is the first Pro Bowl nod for Albright--and the first time the Redskins have had a long snapper make the Pro Bowl.

Albright, known around Redskins Park for his bright red hair and easy-going demeanor, is a 14-year NFL veteran who has played in Washington since 2001.

He has played in all 16 games of every season since 1996 and has proven himself to be among the league's most consistent and reliable long snappers in that span.

Albright will join Chris Samuels and Chris Cooley at the Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 10.

Albright, Cooley and Samuels will wear jersey No. 21 in honor of their late teammate Sean Taylor.

After the game, their jerseys will be auctioned at an NFL Auction, with the proceeds going to the Sean Taylor Memorial Trust Fund, which was set up to benefit Taylor's daughter Jackie.

Albright heads into the 2008 offseason as an unrestricted free agent.
