Lott to Undergo MRI On Knee

Andre Lott suffered a knee injury during this weekend's mini-camp and the fourth-year defensive back will undergo an MRI this week as a precautionary measure.

"We're going to have that checked," Gibbs said. "We're going to have an MRI on it just to make sure. They think it's the outside portion of his knee. It's just one of those things you want to check."

Lott is coming off of an injury-plagued 2004 season in which he played in just four games. He was inactive for three games due to a hamstring injury and then was sidelined for the season following the Week 7 game against Green Bay when he suffered a left pectoral tear.

Meantime, middle linebacker Mike Barrow and outside linebacker LaVar Arrington will continue to nurse knee injuries over the next few weeks as they get ready for training camp.

During mini-camp, both Barrow and Arrington worked out for athletic trainers under the watchful eye of athletic trainers as they continued their rehabilitation.

"LaVar is starting to jog now," Gibbs said. "We're hoping he can start increasing what he's been doing so by the time we get to training camp, he's going to be in a situation where he can go full force."

Regarding Barrow, Gibbs said: "He had three solid days of work. He did everything we asked of him those three days. As far as I can tell, right now he's well on his way back."

At least one teammate was upbeat about Barrow's prognosis.

"It seemed like he was looking pretty good out there," defensive end Renaldo Wynn said. "He says he's in the best shape he's ever felt. It's going to be a great asset to have him back."

Wide receiver Kevin Dyson hyper-extended his knee on Saturday while catching a pass and the injury is not expected to be serious. H-back Chris Cooley, who sat out mini-camp due to a hamstring injury, is expected to be at full health by the start of training camp.
