Mark Brunell Post-Game Press Conference

On the ending of Sunday's 22-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys:

"I've never seen anything quite like that. That was pretty bizarre. I still can't believe it happened that way but we'll take it. We certainly needed it."

On the win:

"It was a crazy game but the guys hung it there and kept fighting. We are going to take it one game at a time. (It wouldn't be right) for us to look too far down the road or even worry about what the Giants or Eagles are doing. We've got to focus on one game. Maybe we can put a few of these together and down the road maybe have a shot. Right now all of our thoughts and any momentum that this creates we need to transfer to the Philly game."

On if the Redskins were due a break:

"We've been due a break for weeks and we got it today. We certainly needed it."

On the offense:

"It was something that we had talked about all week. We wanted and needed to get the ball down the field and fortunately we got the ball down to make some plays. The thing is we made some mistakes that cost us a turnover and a few minor things that we can certainly clean up. Offensively, we did ok and we're happy with the win."

On the fumble:

"There was some miscommunication between myself and Casey Rabach (C, #61). Those things happen and fortunately it didn't hurt us too bad. Those things can be cleaned up. I don't expect that to happen again."

On today's emotions vs. those of past games:

"(I've had) similar, but nothing as bizarre as that. It's pretty exciting when you're up, you're down, you're back up again, then you win the game. Over the course of the game there are so many different emotions that you just have to weather through a lot of it."

On Santana Moss (WR, #89) not playing:

"Everyone stepped up. Brandon Lloyd (WR, #85) played well, and Antwaan Randle El (WR, #82) and James Thrash (WR, #83) had a couple of nice balls. Guys stepped in and did really well. They fought and worked really hard this week in anticipation of Santana not playing. Hopefully we'll get Santana back because we are better with him. We'll keep fighting and I think he'll be healthy and ready to go next week."

On his connection with Chris Cooley (TE, #47):

"Chris has done well. Obviously he's a very good football player. We did not get to pass him the ball much early on but now we're starting to click. He's making some great catches. He's a guy who we've got to get the ball in his hands without a doubt. We are a better offense and we're more efficient when the ball goes to Chris. He has the ability to make something happen with the ball when he catches it and we've seen it time and time again."

On throwing the ball down the middle:

"We talked about it. Dallas had their safeties back and we felt that it was going to be difficult to get the ball outside. We were able to get the ball down the middle and it helped us. Every game is different and we were fortunate enough to capitalize on today's situations."
