Santana Moss underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason, forcing him to sit out mini-camp.

He is expected to return for the Redskins' mini-camp in June.

Moss told reporters that the injury in his knee has bothered him for more than a year.

Both Moss and head coach Mike Shanahan declined to provide more details of the injury.

"He has been on rehab for about three months," head coach Mike Shanahan said. "I am not going to get into the surgeries or what happened to him, but basically he got cleaned up a little bit. He had a little irritation.

"There should be no setbacks. He should be able to go."

Moss finished last season, his fifth in Washington, with a team-high 70 catches for 902 yards and three touchdowns.

He remains the Redskins' top wide receiver, but the team has brought in veterans Joey Galloway, Roydell Williams and Bobby Wade to add competition. Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly remain in the mix as well.

Moss was among a handful of players sitting out practice in mini-camp.

Maake Kemoeatu continues to rehab an Achilles injury suffered last training camp when he was with the Carolina Panthers.

Jeremy Jarmon is rehabbing from a knee ligament suffered midseason last year.

Andre Carter is easing back into action after biceps surgery and Phillip Daniels is returning from a minor knee scope.

"Each guy has a time frame for when we expect them back," Shanahan said. "With 'Kemo,' we hope that he is back by June 1. Andre Carter--I think about the same time frame, right in that area. Jeremy Jarmon--I am hoping to have him by the time we start our [training] camp.

"They are working extremely hard on their rehab and trying to get ready to go."
