Every year, the NFL dedicates the entire month of October to Breast Cancer Awareness. Helping continue the discussion on breast cancer and the work toward finding a cure, the month has done a lot for survivors and fighters. Yet, there is still more to be done.

Linebacker Preston Smith knows this, and is teaming up with the Brem Foundation To Defeat Breast Cancer to help continue the fight, imploring women to get checked and catch the disease early. Having a personal connection to breast cancer, the opportunity to support his family and other fighters makes the moment a special one for Smith.

"It's a good thing to let them know they're not alone in their fight," Smith said. "I had some family members who were affected by it."
