Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth was among the Redskins' inactives for Sunday's game against Houston due to a sprained ankle.

Haynesworth tested his ankle injury during pre-game and was "unable to go," head coach Mike Shanahan said.

Haynesworth was listed as questionable heading into the game.

He suffered the injury during the Redskins' practice on Wednesday.

Later in the week, the injury was still too sore for Haynesworth to fully practice. He was listed as limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday.

Haynesworth is a backup on the Redskins' defense, but he plays a role at both defensive end and nose tackle.

Anthony Bryant and Phillip Daniels saw action at nose tackle in relief of starter Ma'ake Kemoeatu. Vonnie Holliday saw increased action at defensive end behind starter Kedric Golston.

Holliday finished with five tackles and a half-sack in the game.

The Redskins also listed wide receiver Brandon Banks, safety Kareem Moore, linebacker Perry Riley, offensive lineman Will Montgomery, tight end Logan Paulsen and defensive end Jeremy Jarmon as inactive for the game.

-- WILLIAMS TO UNDERGO MRI ON KNEE

Left tackle Trent Williams suffered a knee injury Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Mike Shanahan said after the game that Williams was scheduled for an MRI.

The team is expected to update Williams' status on Monday,

Williams suffered the injury in the fourth quarter. With the game tied, Texans defensive end Mario Williams got past Trent Williams and sacked Donovan McNabb for a 14-yard loss.

Williams stayed on the ground after the play. He eventually walked gingerly off the field with the help of two athletic trainers.
