Marcus Washington and Reed Doughty were both deactivated for Sunday's 29-24 win over the New Orleans Saints.
Washington, a strong-side linebacker, was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Doughty, a strong safety, was out with a stomach virus.
H.B. Blades drew the start for Washington, while rookie Chris Horton started for Doughty.
For Blades and Horton, it was their first NFL starts.
Blades was a sixth-round draft choice by the Redskins in 2007 and Horton was a seventh-round pick last April.
Blades tied for the team lead in tackles with four. Horton turned in a memorable performance, recording two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Doughty practiced last Friday. He came down with his illness sometime on Saturday and was not listed on the team's injury report.
Washington was listed as questionable heading into Sunday's game. He took limited work in practice last Friday, but was a game time decision.
Two hours before kickoff, Washington was testing his injured hamstring on the playing field. He appeared to show good mobility, but not enough to be activated for the game.
He suffered the injury in the Week 1 game against the New York Giants.
"It happened on one play where I got caught off balance and slid," Washington said. "It wasn't anything major, but it still is something I have to keep an eye on."
Washington has struggled with injuries the last two seasons. Last year, he missed four games due to a hamstring injury.
Khary Campbell was deactivated due to a thigh injury, so the Redskins' linebackers will be shorthanded for the game. Campbell entered the game listed as doubtful.
Kareem Moore was also deactivated as he continues to rehab a hamstring injury.
The Redskins' complete list of inactive players was as follows: Doughty, Moore, Campbell, Washington, Jason Fabini, Chad Rinehart and Rob Jackson.
The Saints were absent four starters for Sunday's game.
Wide receiver Marques Colston was sidelined due to thumb surgery suffered last week. Former Redskin David Patten started in his place.
Linebacker Scott Fujita was out with a knee injury and was replaced by rookie Jo-Lunn Dunbar.
Safety Roman Harper was sidelined with a groin injury. Four-year veteran Josh Bullocks started in his place.
And starting cornerback Randall Gay is out with a hamstring injury. With backup Mike McKenzie also inactive due to a knee injury, 15-year veteran Aaron Glenn started for Gay.
New Orleans was also without backup defensive tackle Antwan Lake, who has a groin injury, and backup running back Aaron Stecker, who has a hamstring injury.
Offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod was also among the Saints' inactive players for Sunday's game.
-- REDSKINS WEAR WHITE
The Redskins elected to wear all-white uniforms on Sunday.
It was the first time the Redskins wore all white since Nov. 19, 2006, when they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-17 at Raymond James Stadium.
That game is notable because it was Jason Campbell's first NFL start.
The Redskins wore all-white uniforms during their 2005 stretch run when they won their last five games to earn a playoff berth.

Second-round draft picks Malcolm Kelly and Fred Davis each saw action in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Kelly was sidelined last week due to a knee injury and Davis was deactivated, so the Saints game was their first taste of NFL regular season action.
Kelly caught a 6-yard pass to convert a first down in the first half, while Davis grabbed a 6-yard pass in the second half.
Devin Thomas, the Redskins' top pick in last April's draft, also saw action in the game, but did not catch a pass.
-- TAYLOR'S SACK
Jason Taylor recorded his first sack as a Redskin in the first quarter when he caught up to Drew Brees and pulled him down for a 12-yard loss.
It was the 118th sack of his career, which is 13th in NFL history and the most among active players.
Additionally, Taylor started and played in his 132nd consecutive contest.

The Redskins are now 45-29-3 all-time in home openers, including an 8-4 record at FedExField.
The Redskins have won six of their last seven home openers.
