The Washington Redskins on Sunday announced the signing of nine players to the team's practice squad, all of whom were with the team during training camp and the preseason.

After determining the players that earned spots on the 53-man active roster earlier in the weekend, the Redskins have added linebacker Lynden Trail, defensive end Matt Ioannidis, tackle Isaiah Williams, guard Nila Kasitati, offensive lineman Vinston Painter, wide receiver Kendal Thompson, wide receiver Maurice Harris, fullback Joe Kerridge and running back Mack Brown to the practice squad.

The maximum number of players the Redskins can have on the practice squad is 10.

Trail, 25, originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Houston Texans last year. The Norfolk State product had two stints on the Redskins' practice squad last season, the second of which lasted the entire month of December.

Ioannidis was the Redskins' fifth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Temple. During his college career, the 6-foot-3, 308-pound defensive end appeared in 43 games, totaling 118 tackles with 10 sacks and eight passes defensed.

Williams was signed by the Redskins on Aug. 3 after playing in 45 games for Akron from 2011-15.

Kasitati earned All-Big 12 first-team honors during his senior season at Oklahoma before signing with the Redskins as a college free agent in May.

Painter, meanwhile, was a late preseason addition to the Redskins' roster, as he was claimed off waivers earlier this week before playing in Wednesday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Virginia Tech product has appeared in three regular season games in his career.

After playing quarterback in college, Thompson made the move to wide receiver after signing with the Redskins on the eve of training camp.

In the Redskins' late victory over the New York Jets in Week 2 preseason action, Thompson made a game-winning one-handed touchdown reception followed by a successful two-point conversion catch to follow.

Harris, a Greensboro, N.C., native, entered the NFL as a college free agent in May following a four-year career at Cal.

While the Redskins do not have a listed fullback on the active roster, Kerridge provides the Redskins an option at the position on the practice squad.

After an impressive preseason performance, particularly against the Buccaneers in the final game of the four-game schedule, Brown returns to the practice squad.

He finished the preseason with a league-high 227 rushing yards.
