Football came early this weekend at FedExField, as the Redskins hosted the first-ever playing of the annual Army-Navy football game in Washington, D.C. The game was presented by USAA.

Because of the game's proximity to the Nation's Capital, dignitaries including President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were able to attend.

It's the first time the Army-Navy game was played in the Washington, D.C., region in the 112-year history of the storied rivalry between the two military academies.

President Obama and Vice President Biden were introduced to the crowd shortly before kickoff and Obama was designated for the game's coin flip.

This is the first time that President Obama has been to FedExField during his tenure as President.

As the away team, Army called tails and won the toss. Navy won the game 27-21.

According to post-game notes distributed by public relations staff, the sitting President has only attended 19-of-112 meetings between the two teams, with Navy going 8-9-2 in such meetings.

The last time that a President attended was George W. Bush in 2008, when Navy beat Army 34-0 in Philadelphia.

The official attendance for the game was 80,789.
