Redskins offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus has not practiced with his teamamtes since suffering a concussion in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns.

But after his second walkthrough on Thursday in as many weeks, head coach Mike Shanahan is hopeful that Polumbus will be cleared to practice on Friday.

"He was limited [Thursday]," Shanahan told the media. "If he does pass the concussion test, then they'll let him practice [Friday]."

Polumbus is listed as limited on the Redskins' injury report, and Shanahan clarified that he was available for walkthrough, but not practice.

Second-year offensive lineman Maurice Hurt started in place of Polumbus last week, earning his first significant playing time of 2012.

If Polumbus is unable to start Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, Hurt could be looked to again. The Redskins also have rookie tackle Tyler Polumbus who was active for his first NFL game last week in Philadelphia.

Compton did not see any action, as Hurt took all snaps at right tackle.

Shanahan was coy with his plan for the offensive line, unwilling to rule Polumbus out until kickoff.

"We'll take a look at [Polumbus], see how he practices," he said. "It's all based on who we think gives us the best chance to win. It's all based on how he practices.

"We'll make the decision at game time."
