Redskins running back Clinton Portis underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder on Dec. 5.

The outpatient procedure was performed in the morning by Dr. Ray Thal at the Reston Hospital Center. The procedure arthroscopically repaired a labrum tear and stabilized the shoulder.

Rehabilitation is expected to be six months.
