Recap: Redskins Salute Podcast Party & BBQ

11.7 Podcast Party

As part of the Redskins ongoing celebration of Salute to Service month, the team picked up three of their podcasts and dropped into the USO Center at Fort Belvoir and took over for the day. Rigoo the Disel, 26 Minutes with CP and Cooley at the Park all taped their podcasts with a live audience of active duty service members.

While the podcasts were going on, Ryan Kerrigan stopped by to share some of the newest chunky soups courtesy of Campbell's. After serving out some sample, Kerrigan took pictures and signed autographs for service members. He even jumped on the air waves with Riggo and Portis to talk about the Redskins season and his new campaign "Sacks for Soup". For every sack the Redskins make, 500 cans of soup will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank. As of November 7, the Redskins have tallied 23 sacks which means at least 11,500 cans of soup will be making it's way to a good cause. The campaign keeps going throughout the season so stay tuned for the grand total!

Additionally, Tim Settle and Mack Brown joined the group and helped serve out a Mission BBQ lunch to over 150 military members. They were then able to eat and chat with service members as they took a break from their day.
