Washington last season swept Philadelphia for the first time since 2012, with the second victory – a 38-24 outcome – resulting in an NFC East title for the Redskins while also eliminating the Eagles from playoff contention. Philadelphia has experienced quite a bit of change since that game, as head coach Chip Kelly was released from his duties and replaced by Doug Pederson among other significant moves.

The Redskins will return home following their short trip to Baltimore with the first of two regular season matchups with the Eagles.
In last season's game against the Eagles at FedExField, the Redskins pulled out a 23-20 victory after jumping out to a 13-0 halftime lead.
In that game, Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford threw for three touchdowns to no interceptions, but his potentially game-winning late drive in the fourth quarter fell short when a series of laterals was consumed by Trent Murphy.
Philadelphia will likely once again be led by Bradford, who re-signed in the offseason on a two-year deal.
During the 2014 season, his first with the Eagles, Bradford threw for 3,725 yards and 19 touchdowns to 14 interceptions. Behind Bradford, the Eagles signed free agent quarterback Chase Daniel – who has previously worked with new head coach Doug Pederson – and traded up to the No. 2-overall pick to select North Dakota State's Carson Wentz.

Despite being selected high in the draft, Philadelphia is reportedly considering making the 23-year-old inactive for most game days during his rookie season.
At running back, the Eagles kept Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles while trading away DeMarco Murray after just one season.
Mathews rushed for 539 yards and six touchdowns in his first season with the Eagles in 2015 while Sproles totaled more than 700 offensive yards with four touchdowns.
In an effort to help shore up an offensive line that allowed 37 sacks and struggled creating open running lanes, the Eagles drafted offensive linemen Issac Seumalo and Halapoulivaati Vaitai and signed free agent Stefen Wisniewski while also agreeing to new contract terms with tackle Lane Johnson.
Tight ends Brent Celek and Zach Ertz also agreed on new contract terms this offseason, as the pair combines for 6,737 yards and 39 touchdowns in their careers.
Defensively, the Eagles re-signed defensive linemen Fletcher Cox and Vinny Curry, linebacker Najee Goode and safety Malcolm Jenkins.
Cox and linebacker Connor Barwin will likely carry the load for Philadelphia's pass rush after 12-year veteran Trent Cole left for the Indianapolis Colts in the offseason after accumulating 88.5 sacks during his Eagles tenure.
Jenkins, meanwhile, is coming off a career-high 109 tackles.
Philadelphia also signed nine-year veteran cornerback Leodis McKelvin, who spent his first eight seasons with the Buffalo Bills. McKelvin helps replace Byron Maxwell, who was traded to the Miami Dolphins along with linebacker Kiko Alonso.
