LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have named Kevin Carberry as Assistant Offensive Line Coach and named Shane Waldron as Offensive Quality Control.

Carberry is entering his third NFL season after spending the last two years as an offensive assistant for the Dallas Cowboys. During his time in Dallas, he coordinated the daily practice schedule and scripts, assisted with the weekly run game installation, broke down film of each week's opponent and coordinated self-scouting both in-season and during the offseason. During practices, he coached the offensive scout teams and assisted with the offensive line.

Carberry spent the first five seasons of his coaching career at the collegiate level, serving as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of Kansas from 2009-11 and coaching defensive ends at Stephen F. Austin from 2012-13.

During his playing career, Carberry attended training camps of the Cleveland Browns (2005) and Carolina Panthers (2006) and spent the 2005 season on the practice squad of the Detroit Lions. He also played for NFL Europe's Berlin Thunder (2006), as well as the Arena Football League's New York Dragons (2007) and Philadelphia Soul (2008), earning an Arena Bowl title in 2008. He also coached at St. Rita H.S. and St. Ignatius College Prep in Illinois concurrent with his time in NFL Europe and the AFL.

Carberry, a four-year letterman at Ohio University, earned All-MAC honors at defensive end as a senior team captain. He graduated from Ohio in 2005 and earned his Master's in sports administration from Kansas in 2010.

Waldron is entering his sixth NFL season in a career that includes two different stints in various capacities for the New England Patriots. He served as an operations intern (2002-03) and operations assistant (2004) during his first stint and later returned to the team as a quality control coach (2008) and tight ends coach (2009).

Waldron most recently coached at the University of Massachusetts for the last four seasons, including two years as Offensive Line Coach (2014-15) and two years as Recruiting Coordinator/Tight Ends Coach (2012-13). His coaching background also includes stops with the United Football League's Hartford Colonials (2010) and the University of Notre Dame (2005-07).

A native of Portland, Ore., Waldron is a 2002 graduate of Tufts University, where he was a three-year letterman as a tight end and long snapper.
