Redskins Boost O-Line With Shawn Lauvao

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent guard Shawn Lauvao. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lauvao (6-3, 315) was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round (92nd overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He has appeared in 53 regular season games with 44 starts, including a stretch of 32 consecutive starts across the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

In 2013, Lauvao appeared in 11 regular season games, all starts.

Lauvao, 26, played collegiately at Arizona State from 2006-09, appearing in 42 games, finishing his career with 33 consecutive starts.

Lauvao was born on Oct. 26, 1987, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended the city's Farrington H.S., where he earned first-team all-state honors as a senior.
