Redskins Could Be At Full Strength Sunday

On Tuesday, Redskins outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan passed all concussion protocol for a head injury that ended his Monday Night Football performance early.

On Wednesday, Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather (groin) practiced fully, getting the contingent thumbs up from head coach Mike Shanahan to play this Sunday vs. Green Bay.

"He practiced fully today," Shanahan said of Meriweather. "If there's no setback, yeah [he will play]."

This is good news for a Redskins defense that surrendered 33 points on Monday Night, the most since Week 3.

Last year, Meriweather played only 37 regular season snaps with the Redskins before an ACL injury ended his season.

But considering he logged seven tackles, two passes defensed and an interception returned for 25 yards in those snaps, Shanahan understands the impact Meriweather can have on the back end of the defense.

"Hopefully it changes," Shanahan said of defense with Meriweather. "He's been a big playmaker in the limited time he has played over the last year.

"I think everybody knows what he's done and hopefully he can keep playing at that level."

With Meriweather in the lineup, the Redskins have a chance to dress all projected starters (except Jarvis Jenkins) for the first time this season.

That includes Kerrigan, who left Monday Night's contest early with a risk of a concussion. After being cleared, he told the media he's ready to get back to work.

"I'm feeling good and ready to roll this week," he said. "You definitely don't want to start 0-2, but Green Bay has been one of the best teams in the NFC for a number of years.

"If you want to be the best, you've got to beat the best. We definitely want to go in and get the win."

And now it looks like the will be a full-strength in order to accomplish that.
