Redskins Ink Lloyd to Long-Term Extension

The Redskins have signed wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to a long-term contract extension, the team announced on Friday. Exact terms of the multi-year deal were not included in the team's announcement.

Lloyd was at Redskins Park on Friday afternoon to sign the deal.

Lloyd, a three-year veteran, joined the Redskins on March 12 as part of a trade with the San Francisco 49ers. He had entered the offseason as a restricted free agent.

After the trade, Lloyd signed his RFA tender, then began negotiations with the Redskins on a long-term contract extension.

The 6-0, 192-pound receiver spent the first three years of his career with the 49ers. He has played in 45 games with 29 starts, tallying 105 receptions for 1,510 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In 2005, Lloyd had his best season, leading the 49ers in receptions (48), receiving yards (733) and touchdowns (5).

Lloyd was drafted out of Illinois in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft by San Francisco.
