The Washington Redskins announced March 24 that they have named Zack Bolno as the Executive Director of Communications.

Bolno joins the Redskins after spending the past four seasons (2004-08) as the Director of Public Relations for the Washington Wizards.

Bolno served as the primary liaison between the Wizards team, management, players and media. He directed the publicity campaigns for three-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas and two-time All-Stars Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison.

Bolno came to Washington after working six seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers public relations department (1997, 1999-2003).

During his tenure, the Buccaneers public relations department received the esteemed Pete Rozelle Award in 1997 and 2002, presented annually to the NFL's top media relations department.

As a member of the public relations staff, Bolno worked with the Super Bowl XXXVII champion Buccaneers. Prior to joining Tampa Bay, Bolno worked with the Florida Marlins in 1998 as a communications assistant.

A native of North Miami Beach, Florida, Bolno earned a degree in broadcasting from the University of South Florida, where he worked as a student assistant in the Bulls' sports information department.

Bolno will join the Redskins organization after the conclusion of the Wizards' basketball season.
