First Round NCAA Tournament – Hampton vs. Manhattan – March 17, 2015

The Pirates of Hampton University will have two Redskins cheering them on as they look to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament Tuesday night.

Chris Baker began his collegiate career with Penn State, but finished it with Hampton after transferring to the Virginia-based school prior to the 2008 season. In 11 games with eight starts, the newlywed posted 69 tackles (32 solo), 8.5 sacks and one blocked kick.

"I enjoyed my time there at Hampton," Baker told Redskins.com last August. "I had a great time with the football team and now I'm here with the Redskins enjoying life. But I don't get here if I don't enjoy my time at Hampton and take advantage of all my opportunities."

Three years after Baker roamed the campus, cornerback Courtney Bridget Jr. made his way to Hampton via a transfer, as well. After redshirting for the 2010 season at UNLV, Bridget saw his first action in 2011 for the Pirates.

Over the next three seasons, he appeared in 22 career games and started all 11 games in which he played in 2013. That season, he logged a career-high 51 tackles (22 solo) and broke up five passes. For his career, he recorded 71 tackles (31 solo) and one interception.

Bridget finished the year on the Redskins' practice squad. Below, you'll find his highlight reel from his college playing days.
