Redskins Place McIntosh On IR, Sign Buzbee to Roster

The Redskins announced Dec. 19 that they have placed linebacker Rocky McIntosh on injured reserve and signed defensive end Alex Buzbee to the active roster.

McIntosh suffered a knee injury in the team's 22-10 victory over the Giants in New York on Dec. 16.

Buzbee (6-3, 265) is in his first NFL season out of Georgetown University. He was signed by the Redskins this past off-season as a rookie free agent and has spent the entire season on the team's practice squad.

He had a strong career at Georgetown finishing as a four-year starter at defensive end and totaling 27.5 sacks, which ranked second all-time in school history.

In addition, the team announced that it has waived cornerback John Eubanks from the active roster.

Also, the team has signed two players to its practice squad: defensive end Tommy Davis (6-2, 257) from the University of North Carolina and linebacker Danny Verdun-Wheeler (6-2, 244) from the University of Georgia.
