Redskins Re-sign FB Sellers

The Redskins announced on March 7 that they have agreed to terms to re-sign fullback Mike Sellers. In 2004, Sellers excelled on special teams units and also used his size and speed to occasionally contribute to Washington's offensive attack.

Sellers, 6-3 and 250 pounds, finished second on the team in special teams tackles with 29 last season. He appeared in all 16 games, with two starts, and logged one pass reception for 14 yards. Sellers was mostly used in blocking situations.

Sellers entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Redskins in 1998. After three seasons in Washington, he moved to the Cleveland Browns for one season (2001).

During his NFL career, Sellers has played in 54 games with 16 starts and recorded 25 catches for 274 yards and six touchdowns.

In the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Sellers played for the Winnipeg Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

Sellers prepped at Walla Walla (Wash.) Community College, where he earned JUCO All-America honors at linebacker. He became the youngest player to sign a CFL contract in the history of the league when he played at 19 years old with Edmonton (1995-97).
