Redskins Re-sign OL Todd Wade

The Washington Redskins announced on March 20 that they have re-signed veteran offensive lineman Todd Wade. Terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Wade, 6-8 and 317 pounds, gives the Redskins an experienced and versatile offensive lineman.

Originally signed by the Redskins the week prior to the start of the 2006 season, he started one game at right tackle for an injured Jon Jansen in Week 15 in New Orleans and helped lead the team to an impressive victory against the Saints.

A seven-year NFL veteran, Wade was originally a second round draft choice for the Miami Dolphins in 2000 out of the University of Mississippi. For his career, he has played in a total of 87 games with 86 starts at the tackle position.

Before joining the Redskins, Wade spent the previous two seasons with the Houston Texans, where he played in 23 games with 22 starts over the course of the two years.

Wade started and played in the Texans' first nine games in 2005 before his season was cut short by a knee injury. He was released by the Texans in July 2006.
